In response, I developed an alternative lubricant brand featuring both water-based and silicone-based lubricants. The rubber base not only contributes an intriguing tactile sensation but also ensures a stable foundation, thus preventing the bottle from slipping and offering protection. This design addresses a common issue where luxury lubricant brands typically use glass bottles, making them prone to slipperiness and the risk of shattering. In contrast, mainstream lubricant brands often use unattractive packaging. I integrated a user-friendly pull tab mechanism for effortless extraction of the lip gloss, eliminating the need for tearing or fumbling with the packaging. The packaging now incorporates an elaborate opening mechanism, which grants a sense of grandeur when unveiling the product. As a final touch, once the lip gloss is fully extended, it reveals a concealed image, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal and interactivity of the product. In this vacuum forming project, I aimed to depart from the conventional approach of using vacuum-formed packaging where the container aligns closely with the shape of the enclosed object. Instead, I opted to employ the brand's facial mask mascot as the housing for a pack of facial masks. While this approach may be perceived as unconventional or disconcerting by some, it harmonizes remarkably well with the brand's character and image. The primary objective was to conceive a minimalist candle holder system that offers versatility and adaptability for various occasions. The envisioned system ideally incorporates three distinct material options: silver metal, smoky glass, and black marble. In terms of packaging, it is designed to accommodate the modular components that are not currently in use, in addition to a selection of tapered candles. This modular system is centered on the innovative reimagining of stackable modularity, achieved through the utilization of an organic inspired shape. The brand is aptly named, Obelus, which is a term denoting division, which perfectly aligns with its capacity to divide and enable creative configurations using this modular candle holder system. This innovative approach acknowledges the constraints faced by individuals who may lack the space and lighting required for nurturing plants, while still desiring to incorporate greenery into their living space. The design concept revolves around the fusion of furniture and plant life, offering the opportunity to cultivate and maintain plants without necessitating additional space beyond the nightstand already intended for use. This unique nightstand encompasses several noteworthy features, including built-in UV plant grow lights, as well as a pull-out drawer designed to facilitate easy plant care. Notably, the entire construction, from the table legs to the intricately crafted plant drawer, is meticulously handmade, showcasing the artistry and craftsmanship that have gone into this functional and aesthetically pleasing piece of furniture. It conveys the notion of waiting in a state of ease until such comfort is ultimately compromised. The artwork was meticulously crafted using a combination of materials, including a collapsible chair, chicken wire, fabric, adhesive, wax, and candles. The dimensions of the creation mirror those of a full-sized cushioned chair. In my pursuit of enhancing the visual and celebratory aspects of this experience, I devised a concept wherein a ribbon is elegantly wound around the bottle, gradually unfurling an intricately concealed illustration as the bottle is opened. The culmination of this unveiling culminates in a refined gesture, as the ribbon, having served its role, is employed to expertly release the cork. This innovative concept offers the opportunity to adorn the bottle with thematic or elegantly designed illustrations, suitable for a wide array of events, including holidays and other festivities.
